Boredom-Busting fun for little ones this summer!

Entertaining children during the long summer holidays is always a challenge. Getting kids away from their beloved screens can be particularly tricky, especially on days when the weather isn't ideal for playing outside.

Fortunately, help is at hand! Here at County Square we've been putting our heads together to devise a programme of events to inspire little ones this summer, and we're now delighted to announce the details. Our creative 'Make and Take' drop-in events are on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout August from 11am to 4pm. All the activities will take place under cover in the Main Square of the shopping centre, so they'll be running come rain or shine. Best of all, each activity is COMPLETELY FREE!

There's a different theme for every 'Make and Take' date, ranging from Fairytale Fun to Super Heroes and Under the Sea. You don't need to book in advance; simply come along with your child at a time that suits. We would ask that you supervise your children, but as our workshops are set up between County Square's new Warrens Bakery and our Costa concession, you can enjoy a tea or coffee while watching the children let their creative juices flow.

Free fun all the year round

Don't forget that County Square has plenty to entertain kids, whatever the time of year. We know how bored they can get when Mum or Dad need to browse the grown-up shops. This is where Tiny Tots Farm comes in!

Our soft play area welcomes younger guests to come along and play for free. Designed for the under 5s (with a maximum height restriction of 1 metre) it's open daily in the Lower Oval, near Debenhams and Kids Stuff Toys.

Tiny Tots Farm isn't a crèche – parents and carers do need to supervise children – but it's a great way of rewarding kids for being patient at the end of a shopping trip. So don't forget to drop in on Tiny Tots Farm, and round off your County Square visit with laughter and smiling faces.

Outdoor toys

Looking for play inspiration? County Square has a great selection of outdoor toys and games from leading retailers such as The Entertainer, Kids Stuff Toys and The Works.

Perhaps your kids have been inspired by the World Cup? A goal in your garden is brilliant for penalty practise, and a soccer swingball set will help girls and boys improve their footie skills. Tennis toys are popular too, as well as a range of summer favourites including pop-up tents, paddling pools, water pistols and of course the latest range of bestselling NERF guns.

We hope we've given you some ideas for a boredom-busting and stress-free summer break. Happy summer holidays to all our customers, young and not-so-young!
